Welcome to Illinois, Another Sign for the Collection

Another state line and another chance for a photo op. I think you can tell a lot about a state by the welcome sign it builds. Utah’s was spectacular and cartoony, just like its roadrunner type scenery. Nevada’s was basic and bleak like its desert.

Intriguingly, Illinois’ sign sits next to the much larger sign proclaiming Chester as the home of Popeye.

By my calculations., we should be able to tick off at least 12 states by time we fly out of New York in less than a month’s time.

Hats off to this group who managed to cycle through all of the states apart from Hawaii!
